In a world full of movements
where every moment is defined
     by countless activity,
you could only remain still -
your memories filled
with the blur of people
     passing by.

You see it as a sign of weakness,
where everyday is marred by
masquerading marauders
who feign sympathy and
steal your solitude
     for their own satisfaction.

But you are never weak.
Your immobility is not a liability
but a sign of your
lionhearted strength.
You're the ever-constant rock,
while others are swept away
     by the winds,
you remain unhinged,
     resolute;
your inner will - absolute
     through the times.

How I miss my muse.

Every fortnight, she'd caress

the many corners of my head,

filling my empty well

with her creative juices.

She was my navigator.

I only needed to open my computer

and she'd turn that word processor

into a virtual, magical door

that lead to various dimensions.

Ah, those blissful episodes -

I rode with other-worldly centaurs,

dined with tenth century kings,

deceived intelligence agencies

and grew dragon wings.

I became anything -

Detective, lawyer, knight,

Wizard, senator, spy:

All these things I had been

with her by my side.

And then she was gone.

There was just the empty screen -

so white, so plain, so blank.

Except for the monotonous blinking

of the computer cursor.

Here I am again --

sitting on this wooden chair,

bearing the weary words,

hearing the dreary drone

of this boring teacher.

I was here before --

filled myself with frustration

trying to fathom these discussions

I couldn't care less for

   -- to no avail.

So now I am here --

trying to absorb these concepts

against my volition

until my exhaustion

for if I don't...

... then I'll be here once more.

Monotonous-

The blinking of the clock,

virtually,

digitally,

ticktocking the seconds away

ever so slowly.

Ridiculous-

This wasting of my time,

day-by-day,

half-heartedly,

complying with this coerced chore.

Begrudgingly.

II.

Insidious-

The agony of the wait,

creeping in,

viscously,

The clock is mocking me

unknowingly.

Then the clock struck twelve.

Magnanimous-

The gladness in myself.

Thankfully,

I could see

this tedious task has ended

- Finally!

Time to go to bed.
